[I had more to add to that last post, but Misu and Zoe thought that I had written enough and should take them outside right then and there!] I actually made two more pieces yesterday, so hopefully the slump is really over. These are for a Gothic Arch swap.
These arches are for the francophile in our group, Linda K. For the arch above, I scanned a page of a French aria to use for the background. (It helps having studied music and having all this music lying around.) The woman in the image is Lina Cavallieri, a famous diva and celebrated beauty who lived and performed in Paris in the early 20th century. The lace comes from a French flea market.
This arch is actually very similar to a piece I did for Dans La Maison a couple of weeks ago. As I worked on that piece, I though how it would be perfect for Linda since she loves everything French. Once again, the trim at the bottom comes from a French flea market.
