Screeeeeech! Can you hear the sound of the creaking hinges on the long-unopened door of the haunted house? Come on, use your imagination!
I'm participating in a Haunted House swap with my In this House group. I enthusiastically plunged into this project because I've always loved spooky stuff — horror movies (except the really grisly, gory ones!), ghost stories, sci-fi, fantasy, and shows like X-Files, Buffy, Charmed. My mother once commented on my passion for this genre with some dismay, saying, "Karen, I don't know what I was doing when you were conceived that made you like this stuff." I smiled and said, "Mama, I know exactly what you were doing when I was conceived!"
My haunted house has 4 pieces that fold up accordion style, but when open it will stand up. There are 4 exterior views and 4 interior views. Here it is standing up.
Below is the front door, closed and opened.
Next are the 2 sides and the back door.
I really had to muster all the courage I could to paint that spider. I don't like spiders! I bet my sisters will be surprised to see that I actually painted one. Now for the 4 inside "rooms." In order they are the parlor, bathroom, bedroom and hallway.
Are you scared yet?
