Revelation

Revelation

Revelation is a collage on canvas I did yesterday. I have been so impressed by Judy Wilkenfeld's art and blog lately. In her beautiful work she includes many Jewish symbols which she eloquently explains in her blog. I began thinking perhaps I should incorporate more Christian symbology in my work. So I tore pieces of Greek text from the book of Revelation and used them in the collage. For the center image, I took three photos, altered them in Photoshop, placed them in the collage. The angel, the clock and the arch represent various passages from Revelation.

Ciao!

Karen,
Thanks for explaining the meaning behind this piece. I really love the texture.

Karen, The texture and text are rich and I love that they're full of personal symbolism for you. I love art that speaks personally.
